Why this matters
Today, nobody can say with mathematical certainty what people actually want. Polls survey 1,000 people. Elections bundle hundreds of issues into one party vote every 4 years. Social media amplifies whoever shouts loudest.
Vote Earth changes that. For the first time: verified, anonymous, one-person-one-vote proof of public opinion on specific questions. Not an estimate. Not a survey. Proof.
What is Blockchain?
Think of a spreadsheet that exists on thousands of computers at the same time. When someone adds a row, every computer updates simultaneously. To delete or change that row, you'd have to hack all of them at once โ which is practically impossible.
That's blockchain. Every vote on Vote Earth will be a row in this public spreadsheet. Once recorded, it can never be changed, deleted, or manipulated. Not by hackers, not by governments, not even by us.
What are Zero-Knowledge Proofs?
Imagine a bouncer at a club. He needs to verify you're over 18. Normally, you'd show your ID โ and he'd see your name, address, birthday, everything. Zero-Knowledge Proofs work differently: you prove you're over 18 without showing your ID at all.
On Vote Earth, this means: you prove you're a real, verified human โ without revealing who you are. For national votes, you additionally prove your citizenship โ still without showing your identity. We guarantee one person = one vote, while keeping you completely anonymous.
Why is voting free?
Every action on a blockchain normally costs a small fee (called "gas"). We use a technique called meta-transactions: you sign your vote, and Vote Earth submits it to the blockchain on your behalf โ paying the fee for you.
We cover these costs through donations, grants, and voluntary memberships. You will never pay to vote. Ever. Democracy is not a premium feature.
Can't someone just shut it down?
No. The votes live on the blockchain โ a decentralized network of thousands of computers worldwide. There is no central server to shut down. Even if Vote Earth disappears tomorrow, every vote ever cast remains publicly verifiable. The truth persists.
The technical flow
Two verification levels, one proof
The ZK-Proof system supports multiple verification attributes without revealing identity:
๐ Global votes โ the proof confirms: "this is a real, unique human." Nothing else. No name, no country, no age. Anyone on Earth can participate in global questions.
๐ณ๏ธ National votes โ the proof confirms: "this person is a citizen of country X." Still no name, no address. Just verified nationality. Your country, your vote, your anonymity.
Same cryptographic system, different attributes verified. One person, one vote โ globally and nationally. Impossible to game, impossible to trace back to you.
Open Source
Every line of code will be public. You don't have to believe our claims โ you can read the code, run your own verification, or have any independent security researcher audit the system. Trust is built by transparency, not promises.
